More than 600 Namibian businesses, ranging from small enterprises to large corporates gave us their views on how they have been impacted thus far by COVID-19 and their outlook

The lack of BCP plans leave businesses in a challenging position to quickly adapt and operate crisis times, even at minimal levels. For many the lock-down simply means that they cannot operate even where there’s BCP plans in place.
While businesses will no – doubt alter the way they operate in the longer-term, their short term survival is in many cases very dependent on external stimulus and support packages.
The outlook as expressed by business people points towards substantial pressure on the economy and employment. Ensuring survival of these businesses to secure employment becomes critical.
Around 70% of businesses will not go back to how things were. Their businesses will either evolve or require to total re-invention. Many good business practices adopted during this crisis time will remain and see stronger, more robust businesses in the post pandemic era.
