AnintegratedfundingsolutionforKaapAgri

RMB partners with Kaap Agri, supporting Namibia’s farming communities and agricultural sector with an integrated funding solution.

The challenge

Kaap Agri operates in Namibia’s remote farming areas where access to banking services and facilities is a challenge. When Kaap Agri approached RMB to address its need for funding to drive greater operational efficiencies to meet their market’s needs, RMB saw an opportunity to enable Kaap Agri’s growth, while simultaneously empowering Namibia’s agricultural community.

The RMB solution

Leveraging the collective strength of the FirstRand network, RMB acted as lead adviser and lender to Kaap Agri. RMB was able to assist Kaap Agri with both a trade and working capital facility (allowing for day-to-day operating flexibility), as well as an innovative integrated transactional banking solution – enabling members of farming communities around Kaap Agri to make and receive payments in cash.

Proven client results

Highlighting RMB’s commitment to taking meaningful action rather than just facilitating transactions, the trade and working capital facility will increase foot traffic in-store and decrease cash handling fees for Kaap Agri. The transactional banking solution will assists in driving financial inclusion in rural areas where banking services are generally inaccessible. This combination of banking solutions is not only set to deliver fruitful results now and into the future for Kaap Agri, but also underpins RMB’s commitment to doing good business for a better world.
